Snake Plant, also called Mother's Tongue, or it's official name of Sansevieria Trifasciata. These succulents are from south and middle Africa. They are known for their striking, upright leaves that are elegantly long and stiff.   They can handle low light but actually I put mine outside in the summer and that's what got me the baby offshoots so they like sun too. Great starter plant for the newbies and a dramatic look with their tall standing, stiff leaves.

These are super easy plants to care for in that they do not require frequent watering.  Once you find the right place in your home lighting wise for it you can kind of forget about it, only having to circle around to water once a month or less!

lighting: These guys tend to get classified as low-light plants because they can survive a lower light setting.  The key word here is "survive", not thrive.  They enjoy medium and even brighter light and will actually grow and produce offshoots, etc when placed in these lighting conditions vs a darker area.

your-paragraph-text.png  Water every 4-5 weeks usually.  It likes to dry out thoroughly between drinks.  Overwatering is the most likely way to kill a Snake Plant, make sure it's bone dry before adding.
