Squash Pawsh Cat Bites
Cats love these squash pawsh bites! They are made with roasted acorn and butternut squash with turmeric and cut to approximately 1" treat and baked to a golden giving it a great crunch. If ordered with catnip we use organic catnip in the recipe.
Cats are carnivores through and through but domesticated house cats have become used to some fruits, vegetables added into their foods as most major pet food manufacturers have done this for decades adding flavor to the meals. So although a wild cat would likely never eat squash in the wild a house cat will easily gobble it down and it can aid in indigestion issues. Squash is filled with vitamins A C and B6 as well as nutrients like folate, potassium, magnesium, fiber and phosphorus. High fiber and low calories means your feline could consume a lot of squash without gaining weight. However, as previously stated, cats are carnivores and squash should not be a major part of their diet on the day to day basis. But as a daily or occasional treat it is perfect! As mentioned above, squash is filled with a variety of vitamins and minerals, and introducing squash to your cat's diet can help them with their vision, immune system, and cardiovascular functions.
Pet owners are increasingly seeking natural and nutritious options for their furry companions. One trend that has gained popularity is homemade cat treats made with bone broth.
Bone Broth Health Benefits
- Nutrient-Rich -Bone broth is packed with essential nutrients like collagen, glucosamine, and chondroitin, which are beneficial for cats. These nutrients support healthy joint function and can contribute to a shiny coat and strong nails, making them appealing to pet owners who prioritize their cat's well-being.
- Digestive Health -The gelatin in bone broth aids in digestion by repairing and maintaining the gut lining. This can be especially beneficial for cats with sensitive stomachs, offering a natural remedy that pet owners will appreciate.
- Hydration -Cats are notoriously bad at staying hydrated. Bone broth can be a flavorful way to encourage cats to drink more, helping to prevent urinary tract issues.
Our bone broth is prepared special for our cat treats and uses no ingredients that could harm your cat or even be hard for it to digest. Although bone broth treats provide a ton of benefits in no way should these treats replace an actual meal for your pet. Bone broth should be served in moderation and a small percentage of your cat's daily intake.
CATNIP? YES OR NO?
Cut to approximately 1" treat and baked to a golden giving it a great crunch. We offer these treats both with or without cat nip. Typically cat nip will enhance excitement and enjoyment for your cat. You may see an increased Interest because catnip contains nepetalactone, a compound that can trigger excitement and playfulness in many cats. Including it in treats can make them more appealing and provide mental stimulation. You may also witness enhanced playfulness as cats may become more active and engage in playful behaviors when they smell or consume catnip, making treat time an enjoyable experience.
Now without catnip there is stlll plenty of standard appeal as our treats are well made and tasty.
Catnip promotes exercise so your cats may be more inclined to play and exercise, which can contribute to maintaining a healthy weight and overall well-being. And there is a behavioral benefit in that the stimulating effects of catnip can help alleviate boredom and encourage cats to engage in healthy play, reducing negative behaviors like scratching furniture.
Without catnip you will see more normal and stable energy levels. Cats without the influence of catnip might remain calmer, which could be beneficial if your cat is already quite active or easily overstimulated.
Catnip can also have calming effects. After the initial excitement, catnip can have a calming effect on some cats, helping to reduce stress and anxiety. And using catnip as a reward in treats can help reinforce positive behaviors and create a comforting routine.
If you choose to have us prepare the treats WITH catnip just remember individual reactions can vary. Not all cats respond to catnip, and some may not be affected by it at all. It's important to observe your cat's reaction and adjust accordingly. And like any treat, moderation is key. Overconsumption of catnip can lead to mild digestive upset. These treats should never substitute for your cat's actual meal. It should instead be a very small percentage of your cat's daily intake. So we use catnip in our homemade cat treats because it can enhance your cat's enjoyment, encourage healthy play, and offer natural stress relief. However, it's essential to tailor your approach to your cat's individual preferences and needs and if you don't want the treats made with catnip just check the NO box when you order and the treats will be catnip free.
